Erase Unwanted Ink with Laser Tattoo Removal

Are you ready to turn over a new leaf and erase past mistakes? At Pure Clinic in Cheshire, we specialise in laser tattoo removal, empowering you to say goodbye to unwanted ink and embrace a fresh canvas.

Utilising the groundbreaking Zemits Ogmalaze Tattoo Removal Laser, we offer a treatment experience that is both transformative and secure.

Our state-of-the-art ND YAG Q-Switch laser technology is specifically designed to target and break down tattoo ink into tiny particles. This precise method allows for the effective removal of tattoos of various sizes, colours, and complexities without damaging your skin.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

As the treatment progresses, the tattoo will gradually fade, allowing your skin's natural beauty to shine through once again.

The science behind our laser tattoo removal service is as fascinating as it is effective. The Q-switch Nd: YAG laser involves emitting short, powerful pulses of light that penetrate the skin with incredible precision and intensity, reaching the tattoo ink. These light pulses are so precise and intense that they shatter the ink particles into fragments small enough for your body's immune system to absorb and expel.

This innovative technology is designed to minimise discomfort and maximise safety. The treatment is virtually pain-free, thanks to the rapid delivery of energy (lasting just 10-20 nanoseconds per pulse) and the integrated cooling system that protects and soothes your skin during the procedure.

  • Multiple sessions are typically required, depending on the age, size, colour, and depth of the tattoo.

Each session is spaced several weeks apart to allow your skin to heal and the ink particles to be flushed away by your body's natural systems.

  • Laser tattoo removal works by emitting short pulses of laser light into the tattoo. With laser technology, the light is absorbed by the ink particles in the skin, making those ink particles shatter into tiny fragments.

The body can flush out those tiny particles, permanently removing your tattoo forever.

  • Most people say that laser tattoo removal feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin. Others say it feels like splashing bacon grease on the skin. In other words, it’s not that bad.

If you can withstand the pain of getting a tattoo, you should have no problem bearing the minor discomfort of tattoo removal. Most people agree that laser tattoo removal hurts less than they expected.

It is common for laser clinics to use cold air and numbing creams to prep the skin before the laser.

  • Laser tattoo removal treatment sessions vary in length, depending on the size of the tattoo. For example, a small tattoo only takes a few seconds per treatment session. Even large tattoos that took hours to apply can be treated in just a few minutes.

  • Following laser tattoo removal treatment, it is common to see redness and swelling on the surrounding skin. This usually subsides within a few hours of treatment.

It is also common to see hypopigmentation, or temporary lightening, of the skin. Skin colour usually returns to normal within about two weeks.

  • You could see scarring if you don’t follow the proper aftercare instructions. If your skin develops burns or blisters, resist the urge to pick or pop them, as this is the easiest way to create a scar.

Most people see no scars after treatment.

The better the body’s immune system, the faster you’ll heal and the less likely you will have any scars.

  • Some bruising is expected within the hours immediately following treatment, but that usually subsides quickly.

As the skin starts to heal, you may also see blistering. Do not pop them. Popping blisters can cause scabs, scarring, and an increased likelihood of infection.

  • Laser tattoo removal can be performed on any tattoo on any part of the body, except some small areas around the eyes. (You can get eyebrow tattoos removed, however.)

The first step is to consult with a licensed and certified laser technician. During your initial consultation, your technician will inform you that if your tattoo is near the eye, it is unsafe to apply the laser.

  • Laser tattoo removal can be done on any tattoo, regardless of how big or small it is. The larger the tattoo, the longer each session will take.

  • The number of laser treatments you need depends on a couple of factors:

    • Tattoo size

    • Tattoo location

    • Ink colors

    • Type of tattoo ink used

    • Age of the tattoo

    • Your skin type

Most tattoos require between four and twelve treatment sessions to disappear completely.

  • Laser tattoo removal treatment can be used to remove ink completely or to lighten ink in preparation for a cover-up tattoo. Certain ink types and colours (such as black ink) are easier to remove.

With multiple sessions, most people see nearly 100% tattoo removal.

  • Do not get laser tattoo removal while you are pregnant. There aren’t enough studies for us to know the effects of the laser on an unborn foetus. For this reason, it’s always best to wait until after you have given birth and finished breastfeeding to start the tattoo removal process.

The risk of infection with laser tattoo removal is low, but it’s not worth risking your child’s health.

  • In the weeks before treatment, staying out of the sun and avoiding tanning is essential. It would help to avoid shaving, waxing, and exfoliating before laser treatment.

If you are a smoker, you should quit smoking, as non-smokers tend to heal faster.

  • It is essential to follow a strict aftercare plan. After treatment, you must avoid sun exposure and minimise your exercise routine for several days. You should also decrease alcohol consumption and drink lots of water.

Lack of water and excess alcohol can cause dehydration, which will slow down the healing process and increase your risk of getting an infection.

It would be best if you also avoided hot tubs, long baths, high water pressure, and shaving the treated area for several days.

  • It’s common for laser tattoo removal to cause some swelling in the treated area. Exercising increases blood flow, which can cause additional swelling and tenderness.

For small tattoos, avoid exercise for one or two days post-treatment. For larger treatment areas, avoid exercise for four days.

  • Laser tattoo removal is safe by a certified laser technician/aesthetician.

If you have concerns, speak to your dermatologist and consult with a laser technician before undergoing your first laser treatment.
